You would be responsible for overseeing the revenue cycle management steps and ensure payments are being received from the clients that you work with. If the patient needs help with the charges, you also might help facilitate a payment plan for them. Depending on the size of the practice, you might also be responsible for paying the invoices that come in.
Supervising Office Staff
Your job would be to ask for applications to fill open positions, talk to potential employees and make the final offer to the one you choose. You would also train them, oversee their job performance, and teach them customer service as it pertains to the specialty your medical office works with. And you ensure that your practice complies with OSHA and HIPPA regulations as well as other laws dictated by the local and state government. You set the schedule for your employees, and you organize meetings among the staff when needed. You also file the records both electronically and the paper copies or assign the task to someone else.
Promote the Practice
With the physician’s help, you reach out to the community to inform them of what specialties your practice has to offer. You follow up on customer complaints and ensure that they are satisfy in the end. If the specialist wishes to advertise, they may have you work with the production company to make a commercial and set up a broadcast schedule. You might help design flyers and other marketing materials to hand out around your town. You can also set up a referral bonus for your current patients to recommend you.
